Have you every felt like something was missing or you need more? But, just not sure what or how to get that need met? We live in a world where people are always wanting more and more of what the world offers but can never be satisfied. We have all tried to fix ourselves using people, things, substances and or self pleasures to find they really don't fulfill that real need. We all have a void in our lives that can only be filled by God. So, how do we go about it?
According to Hebrews 11:6 lets us know that it is impossible to please God without faith, while believing that He exists and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Read Romans 3:23, John 3:16 and Romans10:8-10 if you need to hear the plan of salvation.
Matthew 5:6 is a portion of the Sermon on the Mount that Jesus sat down and shared with His disciples. They are also known as "The Beatitudes". It simply says, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled." However, there is nothing simple about this state of being. It literally means a desperate, intense and ongoing desire for personal holiness and alignment with God's will. It is a passionate longing and a deep desire: not a casual want, but a deep, sincere craving. This type of unselfish giving of oneself time to feed the soul through scripture and prayer leads to filling an void that only God can fill, as well as eternal fulfillment. This type of hunger and thirst leads to spiritual transformation: changing a person's motivations, actions and thought to be more like Christ. Furthermore, St. Matthew 6:33 lets us know that if we first seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness, all things will be given to us. So yes, there are blessings in seeking God and His righteousness. Fill that Void in Christ Jesus!
